The Company
The partnership between the idealism of professionals in the education area and the support of a group of businessmen sensitized to social causes, originated in 1989 the Caminhando Nucleus of Education and Social Action, a philanthropic institution, whose initial goal was education and professional inclusion of people with special needs. As time went by, Caminhando ended up broadening its programs, also starting to serve needy young people with no disabilities and their families.
With the expansion of the social programs, Caminhando needed to increase its facilities to attend to all the young people that came to the nucleus, as well as to carry out referral projects to partner companies, for the first job experience. Thus, Ocupantes came to meet the needs of Caminhando to help it find a property that could meet the need for expansion of the programs.
After being contracted by Caminhando, Ocupantes began work, initially coordinating the market research based on pre-established criteria, in the Interlagos region, south zone of São Paulo, close to the current headquarters. Ocupantes prepared a report with all the options identified in the research and, subsequently, organized visits to the best options with Caminhando’s management. Once the best option was selected, Ocupantes began the negotiation process with the owner of the property.
After a few rounds of negotiation, Ocupantes was able to obtain very favorable conditions for the property located at Rua Homero Vaz do Amaral, Vila Friburgo, 500 meters from the head office (Unit 1). The property has 550 m2 of land and 337 m2 of constructed area, with good location and easy access, essential criteria pre-established by Caminhando since the beginning of the project, and that were successfully met by Ocupantes.
